2. What Information We Collect

When you submit a request through this website, we may collect:

  • Your name, email address, mobile number and postcode
  • Your answers about what you're looking for: for example your age group, whether you wear hearing aids or glasses, which dental treatment you're interested in, and how soon
  • Who your enquiry names (HealthQuote Group or a provider), and the consent you gave (including the wording you were shown)
  • Your IP address, browser type and device information
  • If an ad brought you here, the ad's click reference and campaign tags from the link
  • The date and time of your submission

Health information. Some of your answers say something about your health, for example your hearing, your eyesight or your teeth. The law treats this as special category data. We only collect it with your explicit consent, given by ticking the consent box when you send your enquiry, and we only use it to handle that enquiry.

Where it comes from. We collect it directly from you when you fill in an enquiry form on this website. We don't buy your details from anyone else.

Do you have to give it? No. But a provider needs your contact details and answers to help with your enquiry, so without them we can't pass it on.

4. Who We Share Your Information With

Your consent box names who your enquiry goes to. If it names a provider, we pass your details to that one provider so they can contact you. If it names HealthQuote Group, we keep your enquiry ourselves and contact you; we only pass it to a provider after telling you who they are and getting your agreement. We don't share your enquiry with any provider you haven't been told about. The providers we work with are:

  • None yet: this list is updated before any provider receives an enquiry.

Providers may pay us for each enquiry we pass to them.

Once a provider receives your details, they are responsible for them as a separate data controller, under their own privacy policy.

We may also share your information with:

  • Service providers who help us operate this website (e.g. hosting, analytics, fraud prevention) — these parties process data on our behalf under contractual agreements
  • Regulatory bodies or law enforcement where required by applicable law
  • A successor entity in the event of a sale, merger, or restructuring of our business

Apart from passing your enquiry to a provider named to you, we don't sell or give your details to anyone for their own marketing.

Where personal data leaves the UK, it goes to a country the UK recognises as having adequate protection (including the EEA, and US companies certified under the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework), or it is protected by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.

6. How a Provider Is Chosen

We match your postcode to providers who work in your area, and tell you who before your details go to them. This match only decides who can contact you about your enquiry. It isn't a medical assessment, it has no legal effect on you or anything of similar significance, and you can choose not to go ahead.

7. Your Rights

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data (subject to legal obligations)
  • Object to or restrict the processing of your data

  • Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within one month.

8. How We and the Provider Contact You

After you send your enquiry, we or the provider named to you will contact you about it by phone call, SMS or email, as you agreed on the form. We never use WhatsApp for health enquiries. HealthQuote Group does not use your details to send you marketing.

Opting out: You can stop receiving marketing communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email, replying STOP to any text message, or contacting us at [email protected].

9. Data Retention

We retain your personal information as follows:

Enquiry data

Retained for up to 12 months from the date of submission, after which it is securely deleted. If you withdraw your consent, we delete your health answers sooner, keeping only a record that you consented and withdrew.

Marketing contact data

Retained for up to 24 months from your last interaction.

Technical and analytics data

Retained for up to 12 months.

10. Cookies

Essential. While you fill in an enquiry form, your browser's session storage holds your postcode, first name and the provider named in your enquiry so they can carry from one page to the next. It's cleared when you close the tab, and the site can't work without it.

Analytics (only if you accept). We use PostHog to understand how people use this site. We never record sessions, and PostHog never receives what you type or the answers you choose. If you accept analytics cookies, PostHog stores an identifier in a cookie and local storage so visits can be linked up. If you don't, we only count visits anonymously, without storing anything on your device.

Our cookie policy lists each one and how long it lasts. You can change your choice at any time using Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.

11. Complaints

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, please contact us at [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page.
